On Friday 7 October at 13:00, Anne Timm defends her PhD dissertation entitled "Qualitative investigations of health promotion strategies - insights into the development and process evaluation of the Face-it health promotion intervention targeting women with recent gestational diabetes and their families".

About 5% of all pregnant women in Denmark develop gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). GDM is a temporary form of diabetes associated with a significantly increased risk of developing type 2 dia-betes later in life in the woman, her child, and her partner. The health promotion intervention Face-it aimed to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and increase the quality of life among women with prior GDM and their families. The aim of this PhD dissertation was to investigate how the Face-it intervention was developed and experienced among those who delivered and participated in the intervention.

The summary is written by the PhD student.

The defence is public and takes place in Festsalen lokale A222, Aarhus University, Tuborgvej 164, København NV. Please read the attached press release for more information.
