On Thursday 16 June at 14:00, Nadia Flensted Høgholt defends her PhD dissertation entitled "Perchance to sleep: Changes in brain and behaviour after becoming a parent".
Most parents describe their experience of becoming a parent for the first time as a life changing event.
It is an event that changes your focus, your identity, your sleep patterns, and even your physiology. So how do our brains and self-prioritisation change when we become parents for the first time? And how is this affected by the lack of sleep that often mark the transition into parenthood? This PhD dissertation is focusing on the transition into parenthood and the effects of sleep loss that often follows this transition.
The summary is written by the PhD student.
The defence is public and takes place in Samfundsmedicinsk auditorium, Aarhus University, Bartholins Allé and via Zoom (https://aarhusuniversity.zoom.us/j/64939335639). Please read the attached press release for more information.
