The Integrated PhD degree programme consists of 3 years full-time PhD study (180 ECTS), where the first year is completed before obtaining the Master’s degree.

In addition, you are expected to participate in conferences and summer schools, and be an active participant within your graduate programme and your immediate research environment.
All activities need to be recorded in MyPhD which forms the basis of the evaluations of your PhD programme.
Please note, the mandatory study elements must be completed when you are actively enrolled. This means that teaching- and dissemination activities, courses, research stays etc. must be completed in the enrolment period and before you hand in your dissertation. You cannot get study elements approved if they are taken during leave from the PhD study or completed after enrolment end date.

In addition, as a help to navigate the use of AI, the “Five commandments and use of AI in academic writing” have been developed.
The guiding principles and the commandments for work-related use are aimed at students and staff with a focus on safety, data security and critical evaluation when using GAI applications. The principles provide some ground rules, and is important to make yourself acquainted with and to have in mind when you explore the use of AI during your PhD.
