A Research Year gives Medical and Dentistry students enrolled at Aarhus University a unique opportunity to learn and become acquainted with relevant methods, scientific literature and research in general.
The Research Year at the Graduate School of Health is 1-2 semesters fulltime research at one of the departments at the Faculty of Health.
It is possible to apply for enrolment for less than 12 months (2 semesters). However, the student must be enrolled for minimum 1 semester, and the outcome must be equivalent to 2 semesters (12 months) of fulltime research, in order to complete the Research Year. Also, the student must apply for special leave during the Research Year. See the rules regarding special leave at the AU Student Portal.
Students can only be granted special leave, if they are enrolled in a degree programme at Aarhus University. This means that students must be admitted to the Master's degree programme and start their programme with special leave, if they wish to do the Research Year between their Bachelor's and Master's degree programme.
During the Research Year, you complete a defined project under supervision.
