PhD Cup 2022

Did you defend your PhD in 2021, and can you communicate your research concisely and clearly? Then we invite you to register for the PhD Cup 2022 (deadline 1 February)

For the tenth time, the most talented communicator among Denmark's newest PhDs will be found when DR, the Danish newspaper Information and the Lundbeck Foundation hold the annual PhD Cup. If your PhD dissertation was defended in 2021, you still have time to register.

Since 2013, new PhD graduates have had the opportunity to compete in the PhD Cup to find out who is best at communicating their research. Again this year, DR, the Lundbeck Foundation and the newspaper Information will collaborate on selecting and awarding talented recipients who not only have produced outstanding, socially relevant research, but are also able to make their results understandable for a wider audience.

Twenty-five participants will be selected, five of whom will go on to become finalists in the big award show which will be transmitted live on TV from the DR Concert Hall on 19 June 2022. The panel of judges will prioritise ensuring that the five finalists include researchers within the fields of health science, natural science, the humanities and social sciences.

The PhD Cup 2021 was won by Andreas Sommerfeldt from the Department of Chemistry and the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Centre at Aarhus University.
