Industrial PhD

The duration of PhD studies corresponds to three years of full time studies. Before you get your PhD degree you need to complete these mandatory elements:

In addition, you are expected to participate in conferences and summer schools, and be an active participant within your graduate programme and your immediate research environment.

All activities need to be recorded in MyPhD which forms the basis of the evaluations of your PhD programme.

Please note, the mandatory study elements must be completed when you are actively enrolled. This means that teaching- and dissemination activities, courses, research stays etc. must be completed in the enrolment period and before you hand in your dissertation. You cannot get study elements approved if they are taken during leave from the PhD study or completed after enrolment end date.

What is an Industrial PhD?

An Industrial PhD is a 3-year PhD that is carried out in collaboration between a private or public company, an industrial PhD student and a university. The Industrial PhD programme is a part of Innovation Fund Denmark, and it is a prerequisite that there is funding from Innovation Fund Denmark to be an Industrial PhD student.

The Innovation Fund Denmark is an independent fund at the Ministry of Higher Education and Science that invests in strategic research, high technology and innovation.
