On Friday 22 November at 14:00, Anne Catrine Daugaard Mikkelsen defends her PhD dissertation entitled "Brain dysfunction in experimental metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease".
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease currently affects 30% of the global population, and this prevalence is predicted to increase further. Cognitive dysfunction is a newly recognized potential comorbidity, but the underlying mechanisms are still unclear, and there exists no treatment. The aim of this PhD project at Aarhus University was to investigate the underlying mechanisms for brain dysfunction in experimental MASLD and to explore the effects of a novel treatment.
The summary is written by the PhD student.
The defence is public and takes place in auditorium Verdensrummet (A201-170), Aarhus University Hospital, Entrance A. Please see the press release for more information.
