On Friday 4 September at 14:00, Janni Mølsted defends her PhD dissertation entitled “Benign, premalignant and malignant penile lesions: Clinical implications and new diagnostic tools”.
The PhD project is based on four studies. Three studies use data from DaPeCa-data, the Danish national penile cancer database, to examine developments in diagnosis, treatment, complications and survival among Danish patients over a 25-year period. This long-term national perspective provides unique insight into how penile cancer has been managed in Denmark and may help guide future improvements in treatment.
The fourth study is part of the PENIMA project, which explores the use of artificial intelligence and image recognition to help doctors identify penile lesions. The aim is to provide clinicians with better support when assessing these lesions and, in the longer term, contribute to faster and more accurate diagnosis.
The summary is written by the PhD student.
The defence is public and takes place in the auditorium at the Department of Molecular Medicine (MOMA), Aarhus University Hospital. Please see the press release for more information.
