On Friday 29 November at 15:00, Kristoffer Skaalum Hansen defends his PhD disseration entitled "Experimental treatment, immunological and genomic investigations in long COVID".

Long-term effects after COVID is a global health issue, and up to 10% of individuals infected with SARS-CoV-2 develop prolonged symptoms. There is currently no treatment, and the reason why some develop long-term effects is unknown. This project includes the world’s first treatment with a medication targeting long COVID. Furthermore, the project examines the presence of specific antibodies against the patient's own immune system and explores a genetic basis for the development of long-term effects after COVID-19.

The summary is written by the PhD student.

The defence is public and takes place in auditorium G206-142, Entrance G, Aarhus University Hospital. Please see the press release for more information.
