On Friday 2 October at 14:00, Louise Schmidt Grau defends her PhD dissertation entitled “Dorsal genital nerve stimulation for treating bowel dysfunction and overactive bladder”.
Faecal urgency, faecal incontinence and overactive bladder can substantially affect patients’ everyday lives and quality of life. A PhD project from Aarhus University, Health, investigated dorsal genital nerve stimulation with the novel UCon neurostimulator as a home-based treatment option. The studies support the treatment's feasibility and short-term safety, while also showing promising improvements in symptoms. The project was carried out by Louise Schmidt Grau, who will defend her PhD dissertation on 2 October 2026.
