Coaching to PhD students

Are you facing challenges that makes it difficult to focus on your PhD? It can be stress, lack of motivation or maybe you find it hard to balance work and private life. Then maybe attending coaching session could be beneficial for you.

The Graduate School of Health offers coaching to enrolled PhD students.

The conversations serve as a guide to help you deal with your challenges and can help you thrive and free resources to focus on your PhD studies.

Typically, the coaching session deal with these topics:

  • Motivation
  • Your expectations and ambitions
  • Planning and time management
  • Efficiency
  • Relation to the PhD supervisor(s)
  • Work/life balance
  • Writing process
  • Dealing with stress

How can I get coaching?

You can only get coaching sessions if the head of graduate programme or our PhD student counsellor recommend you for coaching.

So if you think coaching might be the right thing for your, please reach out to your head of graduate programme or to our PhD student counsellor.

The coaching sessions

You can get up to five coaching sessions and will be matched with an external certified coach with extensive experience in coaching PhD students. The coaching will be confidential.

You will identify the issue or problem that you wish to discuss with the coach, and the coach will facilitate conversations to help you navigate better at present as well as setting goals for the future.

The coaching sessions take place over 3-5 months. The meetings can either be online or take place face-to-face at a venue in Aarhus.
