The annual PhD Day is an occasion for Health to present the width and the quality of all the PhD projects at the graduate school of Health and all PhD students are therefore expected to participate. It is a mandatory part of the PhD education at Health and the only good reasons not to participate is e.g. maternity/paternity leave, sick leave, illness, or studying abroad. This means that we expect you to participate in at least two PhD Days in the course of your enrolment period. Attendance and presentation is worth 1 ECTS point (up to a total of 3). You register for the day by submitting your abstract.
All Research Year students are invited to submit an abstract and attend the PhD Day presenting a poster as well as the evening party.
All members of Health are invited to participate in the PhD Day as well as the evening party.
All PhD students at Health should submit an abstract describing either the results obtained or (for those who have only just started) describing the project. The abstracts will be presented in the abstract book.
You submit your abstract through the current PhD Day page. Please see example in the submission form. Pay attention to the fact that the upper limit for abstract main text is 1700 characters including spacing.
When submitting the abstract you have to choose if your research filed is “Basic” or “Clinical”, and you have to choose from a list of the key words that best describe the area of your research.
You have to write the name of your main supervisor, and you have to specify which GP you are in. You belong to the GP at the institute, where your main supervisor is working.
If you don’t know the new GPs you can see it here:
GP: Biomedicine
GP: Public Health
GP: ClinFO (Clinical Medicine, Odontology and Forensic Medicine)
If your project has not yielded anything new the last year, you are still expected to submit an abstract. Do not reuse your old abstract – rephrase it and give it a new title. You should still participate in the day, so remember that new data can be presented in the poster.
Abstract submission is also registration for attendance at the PhD Day.
All PhD students (and Research Year students who choose to participate in the PhD Day) present their project on a poster. During poster sessions you present your project to the selected chairmen of the session. Based on the submitted abstract, third year PhD students will be asked to present their project orally. See the pages Poster presentations and Oral presentations for guidelines.
You register for the day by submitting an abstract.
Registration for the dinner and party in the evening will be announced at the current PhD Day page. A small fee might be requested at registration. Please note that partipation in the evening party may be contingent on your participation in the day and that seats may be limited.
