Call for applications for a fully financed PhD fellowship
The project aims to characterize the biological and pharmacological effects of the investigational drugs perampanel and senicapoc in GBM patients. The PhD candidate will integrate clinical trial work with advanced molecular profiling and pharmacokinetic analyses to understand treatment response and resistance.
The project includes:
Clinical trial participation, including patient interaction and follow-up
Collection and processing of patient-derived tissue, CSF, and blood samples
Molecular and cellular profiling (e.g., single-cell RNA sequencing and biomarker analyses)
Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analyses of CNS drug penetration
Functional studies on living tumor tissue and drug responses
Biobanking and structured sample handling workflows
Integration of clinical, molecular, and pharmacological data
As a PhD student, your tasks will include both clinical and experimental work in a highly collaborative environment:
Participation in clinical trial operations, including screening, inclusion, and monitoring of patients
Collection, handling, and processing of human tissue and biofluids
Registration and validation of data in electronic databases (e.g., REDCap/eCRF)
Participation in regulatory, administrative, and GCP-related tasks
Coordination of biobanking and sample logistics
Contribution to multi-omics analyses (e.g., scRNA-seq, molecular profiling)
Participation in pharmacological analyses and drug profiling
Collaboration with national and international partners
Scientific dissemination (publications and conference presentations)
A unique translational PhD project at the interface of clinic and laboratory
Direct involvement in a first-in-field clinical trial
Access to advanced multi-omics and pharmacological platforms
A strong international research environment with leading collaborators
Training in both clinical trial conduct and experimental techniques
You will be supervised by Associate Professor Anders Rosendal Korshøj and work closely with collaborators across Aarhus University Hospital and international partner institutions.
