Preparation

The main theme of the summit - From PhD programme to job market: Identify your real world skills” will focus on your career after obtaining the PhD degree. This includes how to match the qualifications acquired during your PhD programme to particular skills demanded by the job market.

The summit will be a mixture of plenum sessions (morning) and feedback (afternoon) on the participants’ own skills from a career point-of-view.

Plenum sessions

In the plenum sessions you will meet different types of potential employees and learn which skills the employees value when it comes to hiring PhDs.

Breakout sessions

In the breakout sessions you will work on how to best present your skills. The breakout sessions comprise four parallel career paths; Industry, Public Health Sector, Academia, Entrepreneurship.

You must choose two career paths to follow (only one, if you choose Entrepreneurship), which you will state in connection with your registration:

  • If you choose to follow Entrepreneurship, you must choose version 1.0 or 2.0 (learn about the two versions here)
  • If you choose to follow Industry, Public Health Sector or Academia, you must choose two paths to work with. State your first priority as “career path 1” when signing up.
  • Next, upload an abstract on your choice of career paths (see abstract template)
  • Before the summit takes place, we will ask you to submit a draft poster (see instructions and template) which we will have printed for you free of charge (submission deadline 12 August 2019). You must aim your poster at the job ad relevant to your first priority career path. You will work with your poster during the summit. NB! This does not apply to students who have chosen Entrepreneurship.
