All PhD students are expected to join a journal club with an associated senior researcher from the start of the enrolment. Such efforts are considered part of the general activities in a scientific environment and, consequently, do not release any ECTS credits.
The purpose of the journal club is to create an active research environment and an established discussion forum for you and your fellow PhD students at the graduate school.
You will get an opportunity to discuss scientific papers and research-related issues with your fellow PhD students conducting research within the same field. A journal club will mainly discuss recent articles.
All PhD students can apply for permission to establish a journal club. Also, you are welcome to attend a journal club based at an external institution (e.g. your workplace). Find guidelines below.
The journal club must be (or must have been) available in the graduate school database when it is registered in MyPhD (when concluding your PhD studies at the latest).
If you wish to establish a journal club please fill out this form.
If you wish to discontinue a journal club contact the graduate school at graduateschoolhealth@au.dk
You are welcome to attend journal clubs that are based at external institutions and/or units. This might be relevant if your work place is a non-AU institution that offers journal clubs of relevance to your PhD project.
In such case, the following criteria for the journal club should be met:
